Twenty Wishes

With more than 100 million copies of her books in print, Debbie Macomber is one of the leading voices in women's fiction today with her novels regularly appearing on the bestseller lists. Last fall, 74 Seaside Avenue, the latest book in her Cedar Cove series, debuted on The New York Times, USA Today and Publishers Weekly lists making Debbie (for one week) the best-selling author in America - and most likely around the world.

Equipped with just a high school education and suffering from dyslexia, this busy mother of four young children wrote her first book on a rented typewriter at her kitchen table, moving it only for meals. Today, many meals and thousands of pages later, millions of women wait anxiously for her next book.

The new blockbuster novel from number one bestselling author Debbie Macomber, TWENTY WISHES (MIRA Books) is a story of hope, renewal and inspiration. It follows the fortunes of a group of women who are drawn together at a time of loss in their lives. As their friendship grows, they bond together with a simple, but compelling, notion: that each of them should make a list of all the wonderful things they hope to experience in their lives.
Win $10,000:
As the characters in her book learned, simply writing down your wishes can change your life and make it better. "I believe that writing down your wishes is the first step to making them come true," says the author. "Writing down our wishes helps us to learn to dream again, to recapture our youth and dare to be fanciful. It's blowing out the candles on our birthday cake, or gazing up at a star lit sky or sending dandelion seeds into the wind, releasing our heart's desires."

To enter the contest, readers should simply tell Debbie, in 50 words or less, about the wish they would like to come true. Debbie and her publisher, MIRA Books, will select one winner to receive the prize. All decisions of the judges are final.

  1. I've already read this book and I highly recommend it. Debbie Macomber is a great writer. You truly feel you know her characters personally, especially in the series she writes.

  3. This reminds me of Harlequin's More than Words stories by 5 popular authors, "stories inspired by real women who've made a difference." Picked up #1 (2004)
and am starting with Diana Palmer's novella (your friend Brenda Novak is in company w/ Carla Neggers, Emilie Richards & Susan Mallery.)
